Laurel Chor is a journalist, photographer, and filmmaker from Hong Kong, where she has extensively covered the pro-democracy movement. A National Geographic Explorer, Chor is currently working on a long-term project on traditional Chinese medicine. In the past, she has investigated the ivory trade in Central Africa and the jaguar trade in South America and Southeast Asia. In 2013, Dr. Jane Goodall appointed Chor as an ambassador for the Jane Goodall Institute in Hong Kong.
