Her work is informed by her scientific background, and she uses her imagery to communicate science and conservation. She specializes in underwater photography and is a trained freediver and cave diver. She has worked on grant-funded stories and assignments for The Nature Conservancy, National Geographic, Huffington Post, and the International Women’s Media Foundation. Jenny is represented by National Geographic Image Collection.

Cristina Mittermeier is the marine biologist and activist who pioneered the concept and field of conservation photography. Mittermeier founded the International League of Conservation Photographers (iLCP) in 2005 and co-founded SeaLegacy in 2014. Mittermeier is a Sony Artisan of Imagery and was named one of National Geographic’s Adventurers of the Year in 2018. She is also the recipient of many awards, including the Mission Award from the North American Nature Photography Association (NANPA), the Smithsonian Conservation Photographer of the Year Award, and the Imaging Award for Photographers Who Give Back.

Her documentary short “Outnumbered in Africa” won numerous honors. In 2019, Clare was the AAAS Mass Media Fellow at The Washington Post. She is currently a fellow at the Smithsonian Institution.
